I heart Star Trek
You'll never get lost in the Star Trek universe. Just take a look at these maps. One explains how the galaxy is divided into the four quadrants that are always mentioned in the show and the other displays the various known systems in incredible detail. There are even more maps here. They look like they were lifted from some Trek RPG source book.
If you've been in a coma for the past few decades and are one of the few people who have not a) seen every Star Trek episode on TV countless times or b) own all the DVDs then you'll be excited to learn that CBS is streaming episodes of the original series online.
If you want to revisit that era of Trek, a series of audio interviews with the show's creator, Gene Rodenberry, have become available online for all to hear.
For an interview with a Trek contributor who is less well known, here's an interview with one of the show's many writers.
Need another Trek interview? Here's one with George Takei. Much more interesting is the Bad Astronomer's story about how Wil Wheaton p0wned him on Treknobabble.
Speaking of Treknobabble, just how close are we to getting Star Trek technology? This article answers that question.
Finally, what Star Trek linkdump would be complete without pointing to The Musical Touch of Leonard Nimoy? How come Patrick Stewart hasn't recorded any novelty songs yet?

It's just a piece of fan art
According to this story from December, it's a piece of fan art, although the guy who did it is actually a professional CGI artist.
